Rignano sull'Arno
Is a tower-house on the Florentine Hills in Chianti, surrounded by olive trees and vineyards, facing the Arno valley and the mountain of Pratomagno. It is 16 kilometres from Florence and only 3 from the town of Pontassieve where shops, supermarkets, banks,a post office and a railway station are near at hand. The house, built in the XIIth century with white limestone,was restored between the XVth and the XVIth century assuming its actual aspect. Its location in an area with many cultural and natural attractions makes it easy to visit the famous touristic resorts near Florence. La Favilletta is a lovely stone farmhouse,originally built in the 18th century as a hermitage and a place of prayer. It was then bought by Baron Sonnino with other properties, all part of the Casolari farm. The Dionisio family bought it in 1975 and totally restored it. It is pleasantly isolated with a breathtaking view of the Arno valley and the famous forest of of Vallombrosa from the terraces. It is in the midst of Tuscany countryside surrounded by olive grooves and vineyards and private lawn. La Cantina as you enter the front door from a little porch there is ta large kitchen with a built in working area covered in tiles with oven and fridge. There is also a dinning area. To the right a small hallway that leads to a sitting room with a sofa bed to the left of it a bathroom with shower. To the left of the sitting room a bedroom with a double bed. Ciardo is an attractive stone farmhouse built in the 13 th century in an enchanting farm valley of olives and vineyards called Castiglionchio, 17 Km. from Florence. The Brogi family have newly furnished the lower part of their house, that offers a panoramic view from its private grass terrace over the valley. Castiglionchio is 15 minutes from Pontassieve. |

Is a magnicent 17th century villa that originally belonged to the Marquis of Altovita Avila, a famous florentina family, and was bought by the Casoni family in 1933. Tha villa is in an historical park with beautiful cypress trees which lead to a natural wood of old oaks, and other beautiful, characteristic shrubs and plants. Guests are invited to take walks in these lovely surroundings. The Casoni family have newly nenovated two apartments to the left of the villa which was originally part of the stable quarters. They are independent from the villa and each other, each apartment has its own private garden. It is a perfect retreat in which to enjoy peaceful days in a heavenly setting. La Scuderia apartment is on the first floor, reached by outside steps. You enter a hall and on the right there is a dining room with a small, well equipped kitchen off it. Facing the entrance door there are two spacious bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two singles that can be made double. Beside this, there is a large bathroom with shower and bath. To the left is a lovely sitting room with a fireplace and a sofa bed, the apartment is gracefully furnished, and full of light from the large windows. La Guardia apartment is on the ground floor leading from a private garden. It welcomes you with a charming open plan sitting room with a kitchen in one corner and a dinning area. To the left there is a double bedroom, then a bathroom with bath and shower and another bedroom with two single beds. |

Away from exit A1-Incisa, allows to make quick and comfortable excursions to the main tuscan art cities, such as Florence, Siena, Lucca, Pisa, Arezzo. Should you prefer the relax of swimming pools of the "Palagio", you will enjoy the view of Vallombrosa wood, the castles of Incisa and Sammezzano, Villa Pitiana and the Arno river.
